Dear friends,
One more Konkani bhajan song has been uploaded in my following web folder:
www.esnips.com/web/konkanibhajankaraokes
I cordially invite you all to listen the song. This will be incorporated in my next devotional album "Preeti Deere". Sangeeta Prabhu from Ernakulam has soulfully rendered this devotional song composed on the lines of the Malayalam song "Kalabham Taraam". How does this sound ? Anyone who can visualize (Even in one's dreams) the Divinity will get dumbfounded and wonderstruck with the lustre and splendour. It was so with me too...and thus came out the lyrics of this song.
Added (Aug 10, 2009)
It is hardly two weeks more ... and once again Vinayak Chaturthi is here...let us pray to Lord Ganesh as 'Chowti Devu' through some songs in Konkani.
A Bhajan Karaoke sung by Sri.Dileep Kumar (Ernakulam) is uploaded to my web folder, and can be heard in the following link :
http://www.esnips.com/doc/32d62c71-bc94-426d-9cd0-43dbf0c136d4/OM-JAI-GANESH
It is composed on the lines of a famous Hindi melody rendered by the late Kishore Kumar.
However, the latest in the series is a duet sung by Sri.Mohan Kamath (Dubai) and Kum.Sai Archana (Ernakulam). This can be listened by clicking on the below link :
http://www.esnips.com/doc/2e23b331-8e93-4d74-bea0-4fbf43f010c1/VAKRATUNDAA-SREEGANESHAA
In this case not a Hindi song, but a Marathi bhavageete was chosen to suite my lyrics.
Perhaps you already heard this one, presented with devotion by Sri.Mohan Kamath (Dubai). It is from my Konkani bhajan audio CD "Darshan Dee" released in Abu Dhabi, UAE. To listen the song, you need to click on the following link:
http://www.esnips.com/doc/1cc0e2aa-1961-4c25-8c9b-dfb2af153037/CHOWTI-DEVU-CHANDU-HO
Indeed it reminds of the great singer Mohamed Rafi who presented a good number of eternal melodies for music lovers.
Enjoy...and sing along...
Jai Konkani, Jaai Konkani !
Jai Samaaj, Jaai Samaj !!
Best regards,
Payyanur Ramesh Pai

Hi every one, please read this article on my brother Konkani Sardar Basti Vaman Shenoy in
www.daijiworld.com by clicking this link (or as published in this issue).
This is a wonderful article about Basti Vaman Shenoy through whom today the Konkani World speaks. He is, no doubt my brother but, I respect him for what he has done for MY LANGUAGE and to put it on the world map. But for his efforts, there would have been no World Konkani Center. Today, all Konkanis who take pride in saying I am a Konkani can proudly say that our headquarters are in Mangalore.
I remember, every time I went to Mangalore, he had so little time to spare for me in the middle of his busy schedule of meetings about Konkani matters. No doubt he had a wonderful team of people who followed him and did everything to make this colossal project a success. In 1995 when he started talking about a project of Rs. 4 Crores, everybody, except probably myself, thought he is out of his mind. But, I knew him better that he just doesn't know how to give up on his dreams. And there it is to our utter amazement a 4.5 Crore Rupees building standing on a hill proclaiming to the world that Konkani will not die.
Please do read the article and then if there is anything you can do to help that institute, pl. let me know. I know a whole lot of you want to do more for the cause of preserving Konkani but found no time to do anything about it. I think it is time to put your feelings to action by taking out the check book.

Hi Vasanth & Poornima,
Nice talking to you. Do not forget to take Shingles vaccination. People above 60 and who had Chicken Pox should ask their family doctor whether they should take Shingles vaccine as a precautionary measure. Even after taking the vaccine, you may get Shingles but the pain associated with it will be less.
Thanks
Venkatesh Kamath
