Recently, I came across this Webpage titled, "MY MANGALORE" and was completely bowled over! It contains information & brief biographical sketches of several nationally & internationally acclaimed personages of Mangalorean origin; about places in and around Mangalore and most astoundingly, a gallery of fabulous photographs of Mangalore and its surroundings dating back to the mid & late 19th Century which one never gets to see anywhere.
I felt that I would be doing a great disservice to all of you if I were not to share this treasure-trove of goodies with you because in view of your connections with Mangalore, you will surely enjoy the contents and would not like to miss them.
Please do forward this Mail to as many of your relatives, acquaintances and friends of Mangalorean origin as possible as well to all those whom you think might have an interest in Mangalore and would enjoy to see how Mangalore looked in days of yore.
Please be advised that the Web page is a very long one and will take a long time to peruse. So, it would be prudent to open the page when you have ample time to pore over and savour the contents. In case you are unable to finish seeing the entire page in one sitting, or would like to visit it again (?and again), please Bookmark the site address in your Web Browser. To see the photographs in greater detail, please use the zoom feature of your Browser to enlarge the images.

Dear Friends,
Folks Magazine has been just updated. I am not sure if many of you know of its launch. We are now completing our first month with this issue.
Our average hits per day, on average, until today, is around 2,800. We want to make that 5,000 and thus this mail unto. Once we hit that 5k mark we will be at par with the premier magazines in the country. Being an apolitical magazine we are just trying, and hard, to make a point and for that we need your support. Read and if you relish, which we think - you will, do recommend us to your friends.
Counting on your continued support.
With kind regards and best wishes
Fraternally,
U. Mahesh Prabhu

Dear Vasant,
I just received a hard copy of KHABBAR (Vol. XXXII-3) at Windsor address. Thank you for the same. A voluminous publication! We just missed inclusion of our appeal in this issue. I also recall our telephonic conversation on this subject. I am attaching this mail our appeal, a power point presentation of "ADOPT A CHILD" Scheme. Balajimandir web site can be viewed on www.balajimandirkurla.com
I understand next issue of KHABBAR will be in DEC.2009.I will appreciate your approval of our appeal and publish the same.
It was an honor and blessing of Lord Balaji to me to be the President of this august Sabha for 8 years + last 2 years as Vice president.
I have attached the circular No.3 only for information regarding our activity during Kartik Masa, Paschimjagar & of course the most important is the visit of Parama Pujya Guru H. H. .Sudhindra Thirtha Swamiji of Kashi Mutt Samsthan for 12 days starting from 1st Nov to 12th Nov.2009.
I shall be in touch with you again before leaving Canada on 18th Oct.09. Your views/suggestion on our appeal most welcome
With regards to you & Poornima,

Dear Editor,
I am sending this article for submission to Khabbar Magazine for your upcoming issue. This article is written by my sister-in-law, Mrs. Vijaya Nadkarni, who visited this residential school for tribal mentally challenged children near Nasik, Mumbai. The school is being built by Mrs. Shitala Pandit, a Konkani women who has devoted her life to doing this wonderful service. I think it would make a wonderful addition to the upcoming issue. The pictures are also attached along with the article.
Thank you.
Regards,
